1½ cups peas (field/blue peas)
3 cups milk
1 cup buttermilk
8 tbsp flour
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp butter
2 eggs
a little salt

  1. Boil the peas with a little water until soft, then drain and blend in a processor until fine.
  2. Cream the sugar and eggs.
  3. Mix in the milk, peas, flour, melted butter and a pinch of salt.
  4. Cook small pancakes with a little butter and then eat with melted butter, stewed berries or jam.
